LAKE LOUISE
"Moraine Lake Road was beautiful Saturday, I found conditions great for classic. There were many classic and skate skiers and they seemed happy. Parking lot at MLR turnoff was packed at 9:30. I parked at Lake Louise and skied down Tramline. As I left I saw that some people were parking on the road, we should raise awareness about Tramline option to reduce temptation to break the rules."

"The Great Divide trail was great today. The parking lot was full to overflowing when I arrived but there was room for me at Lake Louise. Trail was trackset and groomed, temp was near 0°c, just a bit of wind and snow lightly falling all afternoon. But very few skiers on the trail." ~KH (Nov20/21)^

"Had a wonderfulday at roller-packed Elk Pass today! No wind on top. Snow was great, but unfortunately lots of boot tracks, especially in the lower part. That made the downhill a bit trickier than it already is."

"Did Backdoor-Pocaterra/Tyrwitt to Hidroline than Fire Lookout and down and up Whiskey Jack. Everything roller packed except from the Fire Lookout to the Elk Pass." ~PAD (Nov20/21)^
"We ran into the groomer on Fairview in Lake Louise today. He had driven over half the trail and was filling in thin spots. The other half was skier set. Groomer figured it would be a week or two before they can track set." ~GM (Nov20/21)^
"We finally have our first grooming report for Peter Lougheed!!! Elk Pass has been roller-packed. Conditions sound very marginal though. Not beginner friendly!" ~TK (Nov20/21)^
"The Pocaterra Warming Hut is now open.
Nov 19th: After 5 to 10cm's of snow (depending on elevation) on Sunday, Nov 13th, hard rain fell at all elevations on Nov 14th (mixed with a little snow at higher elevations), with only 1 cm of snow falling at the north end, low elevation trails after the rain ended; up to 10 cm's or so fell after the rain at higher elevations. Much of the north and middle trails were snowmobile packed this week, and some south end trails were snowmobile packed and rolled on Friday. All trails are still very rough with all manner of early season hazards, including bumps and grooves, possible exposed dirt and rocks, exposed brush, and open water in some areas. There is also a large percentage of ice on most trails, including pure icy spots, especially at lower elevation. Tree removal will be occurring on many of the trails on the northern half of the system during the week of Nov 20th to Nov 24th." ~ AB Parks
