Trail Lynx Clubhouse

Not surprising, trails were mint at West Bragg Creek Friday night. I did a ~21km ride: Whitetail, Braggin Rights, Merlin, Kestrel, Tom Snow. Part of The Great Trail project (Cross Canada Trail), there’s a new switchback descent to Tom Snow, which now opens up the possibility to do some cool loops. Tom Snow eventually links to the bottom of Merlin (go left at the junction whereby the option to the right highlights "Equestrian"). You can just ride back to WBC parking lot via Braggin Rights or head on to Reconnect and Long Distance to extend your ride. I did get a sprinkle of rain on Kestrel, but did not affect the ride at all. The wind was picking up, skies looking ominous, but all ended up well. Late post - Pi Day - March 14/22 Our route (as we did Friday night as well): Up Boundary Ridge, Ranger Summit, Strange Brew (yup, still some ruts to keep things spicey!), Snowy Owl. After this evening ride last night, we estimated "90% good to go", but of course, conditions must have changed after higher temps and wind today. We were actually pleasantly surprised the trails were in such good shape. Looks like the trail peeps had cut some recently downed trees on both Boundary and Strange Brew - many thanks! Will this be our last snowy fatbike ride of the season? Few pics from the ride...

No photos from our Friday Night Lights Fatbike ride, but conditions were fat-tastic. The snow was magnifique. Our route: Up Boundary Ridge, Ranger Summit, Strange Brew (yup, still some ruts to keep things spicey!), Snowy Owl. Some excellent bike therapy after a week's work. Couldn't wipe the smile off the faces of riders in the parking lot post-ride including one guy who reported excellent conditions on the North side as well: "Best fatbiking conditions I've seen in 5 years!!" Your mileage may vary this weekend. I'll include couple pics from Fish Creek ride earlier in the week. Ride free. JFR! (Just f*cking ride).
